Define prefix: chebi/ or chebi#
As part of an @amalik mail related to the ChEBI Ontology:
Dear ChEBI team,
We are a big user of the chebi.owl for many of our projects e.g. Rhea, Swiss-Lipids and UniProt.
One of the small annoyances we and our users have when writing SPARQL queries using the ChEBI data is that we have three chebi prefixes in play.
prefix CHEBI: http://purl.obolibrary.org/obo/CHEBI_ prefix chebihash: http://purl.obolibrary.org/obo/chebi#" prefix chebislash: http://purl.obolibrary.org/obo/chebi/
The first is fine that is after all the purl for you major entities. The second hash/slash is annoying. This comes in part from the obo to owl conversion. But others are hardcoded.
defenitions in obo e.g.
subsetdef: 1_STAR "Preliminary entries" synonymtypedef: IUPAC_NAME "IUPAC NAME"
Generate
http://purl.obolibrary.org/obo/chebi#IUPAC_NAME http://purl.obolibrary.org/obo/chebi#1_STAR
While in the obo property values you use a slash '/' as the last delimited e.g.
property_value: http://purl.obolibrary.org/obo/chebi/mass property_value: http://purl.obolibrary.org/obo/chebi/charge
Would you mind starting a process to standardize on one or the other? This would need wide communication with your user community as many of us have gotten used to this idiosyncrasy and changing this without clear announcement would be terrible.
Thank you for your consideration.
Regards, Jerven
